FAQ

WILL MY HEALTH INSURANCE COVER THERAPY?
Counselling and psychotherapy are not covered by OHIP.  Full or partial coverage of mental health services may be available through your employee benefits plan or insurance plans. Please check with your plans to determine what your coverage is included. If your coverage includes reimbursement for Registered Social Workers or Psychotherapy, your sessions will be covered.

HOW DO I SCHEDULE A SESSION AND WHAT CAN I EXPECT DURING OUR 15-MINUTE CONSULTATION?
You can book your session through the online booking page where we can discuss your counselling goals, your strengths and if we are a good fit moving forward. You can inquire about insurance coverage, session rates, and scheduling.

WHAT ARE THE FEES AND HOW CAN I PAY?
My fees are $150 per hour. Accepted methods of payment include e-transfer or credit card. If you are a post secondary student, you may qualify for the Bursary for Student With Disabilities which may cover your services.

HOW OFTEN AND FOR HOW LONG SHOULD I EXPECT TO ATTEND THERAPY?
The answer to this is different for everyone. Some people start therapy with a specific short-term goal in mind and it may only plan 4-6 sessions to achieve that goal. Other people are looking for long-term support through different stages of their lives. How often you attend sessions is up to you. You are not committed to a set number of sessions. It’s most common to attend sessions more frequently at the beginning and then start to space sessions out once progress is noticed.

WHAT IS THE CANCELLATION FEE?
Your appointment time is reserved for you and you alone. The cancellation policy is in place to support the continuity of our work and commitment to the process of therapy. If you are unable to provide at least 24 hours notice when you cancel or if you miss your appointment, you will be charged a $50 fee.

DO YOU OFFER A SLIDING FEE SCALE FOR THOSE WITHOUT INSURANCE COVERAGE?
I strive to offer support to those ready to reach out for support. Please schedule a consultation so we can discuss your situation.
